
New Delhi, 16 January (H.S.): India has achieved a major milestone in digital technology, emerging as the world's second-largest market for 5G users. The country now boasts over 400 million individuals utilizing 5G services, trailing only China in this domain.
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced on Friday via a post on X that India holds the second-largest 5G subscriber base globally after China. He emphasized that the nation ranks among the fastest adopters of this technology worldwide.
With over 400 million 5G users, India has become the world's second-largest 5G subscriber base today, positioning it as one of the fastest-growing markets for this technology, Scindia stated.
The Minister attributed this success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership, noting that India's 5G story is setting new global benchmarks in scale, speed, and digital transformation. He highlighted that India now stands as the second-largest 5G market worldwide.
High-speed internet is extending from cities to villages, reaching more areas and connecting every corner of the country. This development marks a significant milestone in India's digital journey.
