Ahmedabad, 12 January (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz participated in the India-Germany CEO Forum here on Monday alongside top industrialists and business leaders from both nations.

The leaders engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering trade, investment, and technological collaboration while reaffirming their commitment to elevate the bilateral economic partnership to new heights.

Earlier, the two leaders visited Sabarmati Ashram, the historic site from where Mahatma Gandhi launched the Dandi March, and paid floral tributes to honor his enduring ideals.

Chancellor Merz experienced Gandhi's legacy firsthand by operating the charkha, symbolizing a nod to India's independence struggle and shared values of sustainability.

Preceding the forum, Modi and Merz held bilateral talks emphasizing strategic partnership enhancements in trade, investment, defense, and critical technologies.

The agenda underscored deeper cooperation across education, skilling, mobility, green development, and security, marking 25 years of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership and 75 years of diplomatic relations.
