New Delhi, August 9 (HS): The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, a federation of Muslim organisations and intellectuals, marked its Foundation Day by voicing deep concern over the country’s political and social situation on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference, organisation president Feroz Ahmad criticised the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar and other states, calling it an attempt to deprive backward classes of voting rights. The body expressed alarm over rising communal violence, targeting of minorities, displacement of minority communities in Assam, harassment of Bengali-speaking people, and the adverse implications of the Waqf Amendment Act 2025.
It also condemned the release of all accused in the Malegaon blast case, the Maharashtra government’s “double standards” in terror cases, and the growing challenges faced by vulnerable communities, calling these trends a grave threat to India’s secular democratic framework.
Reaffirming its commitment to justice, constitutional rights, and democracy, Majlis-e-Mushawarat pledged legal, political, and moral resistance against such developments.
On international issues, the organisation denounced Israel’s actions in Gaza, the West Bank, and other areas as “war crimes” and violations of international law and human dignity, urging the global community to take concrete action and stand with Palestinians. It also announced plans to hold a national conference in Delhi soon.
Senior leaders including General Secretary Ahmad Javed, Executive Member Engr. Sikandar Hayat, and State President Dr. Idris Qureshi were present at the event
