Washington, August 14 (HS): First Lady Melania Trump has issued a legal ultimatum to Hunter Biden, threatening to sue for more than $1 billion over what her lawyers call a “false, defamatory and inflammatory” allegation linking her introduction to Donald Trump to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
In a recent interview, President Joe Biden’s son claimed Epstein had introduced Melania to Trump, citing alleged unreleased documents he said could implicate the president. The First Lady’s legal team is demanding an immediate retraction and public apology, accusing Biden of relying on a since‑removed Daily Beast article — retracted after Melania’s attorneys challenged its accuracy.
Her lawyers say the remarks have caused severe financial and reputational damage and accuse Biden of having a history of using high‑profile names for personal attention.
Donald Trump has acknowledged a past friendship with Epstein but insists their ties ended in the early 2000s over a business dispute. There is no evidence that Epstein ever introduced Melania and Trump, who met at a 1998 modeling industry party, according to past interviews.
The legal clash unfolds as pressure mounts on the administration to release the so‑called “Epstein files” — long‑speculated documents related to the late financier’s criminal case. Federal agencies have stated no incriminating client list exists.
