Kochi, 13 August(HS): In a blatant proof that it is the writ of Islamists that run in Kerala, the police refused to accept or register a complaint given by the mother and brother of Sona Eldhose, the Kothamangalam girl who committed suicide last Saturday following unabated physical and mental torture by her lover Rameez and his mother.

Sona, a Christian girl, fell into the trap of Islamic Jihadi Rameez who took her around, enjoyed life for six months and then set the8 pre-condition that the girl should convert to Islam if she wants him to marry her.

Though she was reluctant to convert from Christianity to Islam, she agreed to the diktat of Rameez and informed him about her willingness. But Rameez and his friends were taken into custody by the police following a raid in a sex parlor. This made Sona to change her decision to undergo religious conversion.

“She told Rameez that she was ready for a register marriage and not willing to undergo conversion. This made him furious and he took her by force to his house and was subjected to physical assault with the help of his mother,” Sona’s mother told reporters on Wednesday.

When Sona’s mother and brother went to the police station to file a complaint, the police refused to accept the plaint and filed a case based on a statement made by a distant relation of her mother. The police refused to include the demand made by Rameez that she should convert to Islam prior to the marriage.

Though Sona has mentioned all the details about the pressure exerted by Rameez for religious conversion, the police asked the mother and brother not to disclose the details to anybody. Sensing the reality that they would not get justice from the police, the mother-son duo revealed the contents of the note to the media.

By Wednesday evening, the mother wrote to the state police chief and the chief minister requesting them to hand over the probe to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) since she had reservations about the antecedents of the state police.

No political outfits except the BJP has come forward offering condolences to the bereaved family.

Union Minister George Kurian called on the family, consoled them and promised all help to the mother and brother.

There are reports that the family and friends of Rameez were planning to convert the entire family of Sona to Islam. Sona’s friends in college told reporters that three or four Muslim girls too were part of the gang to trap Sona and make her a victim of Love Jihad.

Elsewhere in the State, the Jihadi Romeos trap gullible Hindu girls with the tacit support offered by Muslim girls who play the role of swan in the operation.
