New Delhi, July 08 (H.S.): The impact of U.S. President Donald Trump's new tariff announcements is evident in today's stock market, with traders exercising caution. The market opened weakly, but both the Sensex and Nifty indices initially showed some upward movement due to buying support. However, selling pressure soon emerged. By 10 AM, the Sensex was up by 0.02 percent, while the Nifty was down by 0.02 percent.

Prominent stocks like Kotak Mahindra, Eternal, Bharat Electronics, NTPC, and IndusInd Bank saw gains ranging from 3.67 percent to 0.93 percent, but stocks such as Titan Company, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Cipla, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and HCL Technologies experienced losses between 5.42 percent and 0.46 percent. Out of 2,436 actively traded shares, 1,501 were in the green while 935 were in the red.

In the Sensex, 16 of the 30 stocks traded positively, while 14 faced losses; in the Nifty, 28 out of 50 were in the green and 22 in the red. The BSE Sensex opened at 83,387.03 points, down by 55.47 points, but rose to 83,458.03 points by 10 AM. The NSE's Nifty started at 25,427.85 points, down by 33.45 points, fluctuating between 25,495.90 and 25,424.15 points before settling at 25,457.30 points, showing a slight decline of 4 points. On the previous trading day, Sensex closed at 83,442.50 points, and Nifty at 25,461.30 points.
