New Delhi, July 30(HS): The Supreme Court has dismissed 14 petitions against the acquittal of Surendra Koli and Maninder Singh Pandher in the Nithari serial murder case. A bench led by Chief Justice B.R. Gavai issued the rejection order. Pandher has been acquitted in all cases, while Koli remains incarcerated due to another pending case. The petitions were filed by a victim's father, the CBI, and the Uttar Pradesh government, challenging the Allahabad High Court's October 16, 2023 acquittal of Koli, who was previously sentenced to death in 2010. Koli's lawyer argued that his confession was obtained well after police custody.
