Jorhat (Assam), 2 July (HS): A 24-member delegation from South Korea reached Meleng Tea Estate in Jorhat to study Assam's 200-year-old tea tradition and rich heritage.

The representatives deeply observed the entire process from plucking tea leaves to its processing, manufacturing and packing and described it as a very fascinating and informative experience.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma described this educational tour as encouraging from the point of view of global cooperation and said, Such study tours will make the international possibilities of Assam's tea more widespread.

He said that Assam's tea is now becoming a medium of global friendship, not only for the country.
