Bongaigaon (Assam), 1 July (HS): Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR) on Tuesday officially launched the “Swachhata Pakhwada 2025” (Theme - United Effort for Clean Future) with a Pledge Taking Ceremony at BGR Sports Complex, BGR Township. The event marked the beginning of a fortnight-long campaign dedicated to promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the refinery premises and adjoining districts.
The inaugural event was attended enthusiastically by all. It emphasized collective commitment to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Dignitaries present included the Chairmen and their respective members of Bongaigaon Municipal Board and Kajalgaon Municipal Board. The academic fraternity was well represented with Principals, teachers and students of DPS Dhaligaon and BGR HS School participating along with the employees of Bongaigaon Refinery in taking the Swachhata Pledge.
The programme commenced with the welcome address, sharing the outline of the activities of the fortnight, followed by Swachhata Pledge, in which all the participants took an oath to uphold the principles of cleanliness and hygiene.
JJ Das, Chief General Manager (HS&E) delivered an inspiring address on the importance of “Swachhata” and formally inaugurated the Swachhata Pakhwada.
On this occasion, the “Swachhata Rath” was flagged off. The Rath is specially designed, which will move around the districts of Bongaigaon, Chirang and Kokrajhar during the entire fortnight and spread the important message of cleanliness and encourage community participation.
Bongaigaon Refinery is dedicated to promoting a clean and healthy environment and Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 is a testimony to its continued commitment towards this important national mission. During the fortnight, Bongaigaon Refinery will organize various awareness programmes and competitions in schools, colleges and local markets.
After the oath taking ceremony, all the attendees actively participated in the cleanliness drive at the BGR Sports Complex.
