Ahmedabad, June 4 (H.S.): The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) claimed their first title in 18 years with a thrilling 6-run victory over Punjab Kings in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). After the match, captain Rajat Patidar openly shared his emotions amidst the celebrations. He termed it a special moment for Virat Kohli and RCB fans.After the match, Rajat Patidar said, This is extremely special for me, and even more so for Virat Kohli. This win is for the fans who have supported our team for years. They are the true owners of this trophy.

When asked when he felt the team could win the trophy, Rajat said, I think after Qualifier-1, I believed we could do well this time. The rhythm and confidence of our team at that time were remarkable.

In the first innings, RCB scored 190 runs. On this, Rajat said, 190 runs were a good score on this pitch because the wicket was a bit slow. The way the bowlers executed their plans was commendable. Especially the timing of Krunal Pandya’s bowling was the turning point. His spell (4 overs, 17 runs, 2 wickets) was fantastic. He always takes wickets under pressure.

He further added, Whenever I'm under pressure, I look to see where 'KP' (Krunal) is. I have a lot of trust in him. Besides him, Suyash, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Hazlewood – all the bowlers performed excellently throughout the season.

Regarding Virat Kohli's 18-year journey with RCB, Rajat said, For me, it was a great opportunity to captain with him. I learned a lot from him. He is the biggest deserving candidate for this title. He has always supported the team, management, and every player. The way the coaching staff and support staff motivated all the players was amazing.

With this historic win in IPL 2025, RCB has ended their fans' long wait, and Rajat Patidar has created a new history under his captaincy.
