New Delhi, June 4(HS): The domestic stock market is facing pressure in early trading today. Initially, there was a slight increase with the Sensex opening up by 40.14 points at 80,777.65 points, reaching a peak of 80,967.68 points due to buying support. However, selling pressure set in, causing a decline, with the Sensex trading down slightly by 0.11 percent at 80,827.35 points by 10 AM. Similarly, the Nifty started at 24,560.45 points, gaining 17.95 points before peaking at 24,612.75 points, but also succumbed to selling, maintaining a gain of 31.45 points at 24,573.95 points by 10 AM.
Among major stocks, Shriram Finance, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, and Mahindra & Mahindra saw gains between 1.13 percent and 0.70 percent. In contrast, UltraTech Cement, Trent Limited, TCS, Coal India, and JSW Steel experienced declines from 0.86 percent to 0.68 percent. Out of 2,357 actively traded stocks, 1,124 were gaining while 1,233 were losing. In the Sensex, 14 stocks were in the green while 16 were in the red, and similarly, the Nifty had 25 stocks in both categories. The previous trading day saw the Sensex close at 80,737.51 points, down 636.24 points (0.78 percent), while the Nifty ended at 24,542.50 points, down by 174.10 points (0.70 percent).
