Dibrugarh (Assam), 29 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he always tries to fulfill the promises made to the people. He reminded that as per the promise he had made to the people of Upper Assam when he assumed the post of Chief Minister, the work of expansion of National Highway from Numaligarh to Dibrugarh is going on at a fast pace and this work will be completed by February-March.

The Chief Minister also informed that a special emergency landing facility has been built on the part of Dimo-Maran National Highway in Dibrugarh district, in which military and civilian aircraft will be able to land if needed. This is the first such facility in North-East India.

Along with this, he informed that the Central Government has also approved two more emergency landing facilities in Assam—between Barma-Tihu and Nagon-Lumding.
