Hyderabad/New Delhi, 2 June (H.S.): Telangana Formation Day 2025 will be commemorated on June 2, marking the state’s 11th foundation anniversary, as Telangana, formed on June 2, 2014, is India’s youngest state. Celebrations across the state encompass various events honoring the struggles that led to its creation.

The demand for a separate state was officially recognized by the Congress Working Committee on July 1, 2013, amid ongoing protests. Subsequently, the Union Government formed a committee to assess the situation, resulting in the approval of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill in 2014. It was also decided that Hyderabad would serve as the joint capital for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for a decade.

The significance of Telangana Formation Day lies in recognizing the hardships endured by its people in achieving a unique identity separate from Andhra Pradesh, celebrating their triumph and resilience over decades of struggle.
