Hyderabad, 2 June (H.S.): Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy outlined the government's ambition to transform Telangana into a 1 trillion dollar economy, seeking collaboration from professionals across all sectors. Since taking office, he has focused on the state's progress and the welfare of its citizens.

Reddy noted the revamping of educational institutions and mentioned financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for Civils aspirants facing economic challenges. The establishment of Young India Skills University aims to enhance skill development for youth, and a Sports University is set to be opened to train potential Olympic athletes.

Reddy discussed the Indira Mahila Shakti policy to empower women, enabling them to start their businesses. He highlighted reforms such as free bus services for women and a loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh benefitting 25 lakh farmers, addressing agricultural distress. The Bhu Bharati scheme intends to resolve land disputes, complemented by awareness camps aimed at establishing clear land ownership solutions throughout the state.

On employment, Reddy stated that the government prioritized youth futures by filling over 60,000 jobs within 16 months of assuming power, including 10,000 teacher positions through the DSC exam. He emphasized the regular recruitment across various sectors, including Irrigation, Medical, Health, Police, and Energy, instilling confidence in the youth. A Job Calendar has been announced to efficiently address vacancies, and the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme aims to provide financial support to young individuals seeking employment opportunities.

Reddy discussed the creation of Young India Integrated Residential Schools to support SC, ST, and OBC students and announced a new Osmania General Hospital at Goshamahal Police Grounds. He emphasized the Congress government's push for SC sub-categorisation, addressing challenges faced by SCs over the past decade. The fine rice scheme, he noted, has benefited 30 lakh individuals in Telangana.

On economic progress, Reddy highlighted that the Congress government secured Rs 3 lakh crore in investments from international partners in the last 18 months. He mentioned ongoing efforts to transform the Musi River and promote Bapu Ghat as an international destination. During the Telangana Formation Day event, he outlined policies aimed at developing AI City, Pharma City, and other growth hubs.

Reddy also discussed the state government’s commitment to enhancing Metro rail services, showcasing the rapid transformation of the Hyderabad Metro. He praised the Telangana police for their effective measures against drug abuse and trafficking. Additionally, he noted that hosting the Miss World 2025 competition significantly boosted tourism in Telangana, attributing this success to the dedicated work of the tourism department.
