Srinagar, 2 June (H.S.): The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference general secretary and MLA Khanyar, Ali Mohammad Sagar, today inspected the ongoing construction work at the SR Gunj Hospital.

During the comprehensive site visit, Sagar assessed the current status of the hospital infrastructure and interacted with officials on-site to evaluate progress. He expressed satisfaction over the pace of work in some areas while highlighting the need for immediate redressal in pending segments to ensure timely project completion.

In a series of on-the-spot directives aimed at bolstering civic amenities and healthcare infrastructure, Sagar instructed the concerned departments to immediately initiate the long-pending construction of the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) Station at Wazpora, SR Gunj, citing its strategic importance in enhancing public safety and emergency response capabilities in the densely populated locality.

He also sought establishment of an additional Ration Depot in the area to improve access to essential commodities, especially for economically weaker sections. He discussed the relocation of the JKPDD Control Grid from the hospital premises, a move intended to decongest the area, streamline hospital operations, and improve accessibility for patients and visitors.

The review tour was attended by Government officials and engineers, including the Chief Engineer Smart City, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, Additional Director CAPD North, Superintending Engineer R&B Core, Joint Commissioner Works SMC, Executive Engineer City Roads, Executive Engineer JKPDD, and others.

Sagar emphasized the critical need to complete all ongoing and sanctioned works ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, keeping in mind the rising public demand and civic pressure during the festive season. He also underlined the importance of inter-departmental coordination to eliminate procedural delays and to ensure a citizen-centric approach in development.

Addressing the media Sagar reaffirmed his commitment to holistic development in Khanyar and surrounding areas, stating, “Healthcare and public services are top priorities. Projects like the SR Gunj Hospital, new ration depots, and F&ES stations are not just infrastructural assets, but they are lifelines for our people.”
