Nashik, 02 June (HS): The final phase of

Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg (Express Highway) between Thane and Igatpuri

will be inaugurated at the hands of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on June 5.

With the opening of the 76 km stretch, the dream project of Fadnavis will be dedicated

to people.

The time to travel between Nashik and Mumbai will be

reduced from 3.45 hours to 2.30 hours. Besides reducing the travel time by 1.20

hours, the distance will also be reduced by about 40 kms due to the Express

Highway. The slow traffic while crossing the Kasara Ghat can be covered at a

faster speed due to the 7.74 km long tunnel. The six-lane Express Highway will

be 36 meter wide while crossing the tunnel.

The Managing Director of MSRDC (Maharashtra State

Road Development Corporation), Anilkumar Gaikwad said that the construction work

has been completed. The Express Highway will help in the industrial and

economic development of the state.
