New Delhi, June 2 (H.S.): The first death from coronavirus in Ahmedabad has been recorded after three years. A woman with pre-existing health issues, including hypertension, was admitted to LG Hospital on May 23 and later tested positive for the virus. Dr. Bhavin Solanki of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation noted that this incident prompted the health department to heighten its alert. In the past 24 hours, there have been 55 new cases in the city, bringing the total to 163 patients currently being treated. An isolation ward for COVID-19 has reopened at SVP Hospital. Across the state, there are 320 active cases, with Surat reporting 22 new cases in the last 15 days.
