Lucknow,
02 June (HS): Om Prakash Rajbhar, chief of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party,
said on Monday that his party will commemorate Maharaja Suheldev's triumph over
invaders on June 10 as 'Vijay Diwas'. While lauding Suheldev's bravery, he
accused Congress and the SP of wiping the king's legacy from history.
During
a press conference here, Rajbhar stated that years ago, Maharaja Suheldev
Rajbhar defended Indian culture and identity by defeating the invading forces
of Salar Masud Ghazi, the commander of Mahmud of Ghazni, who had marched into
India with a three lakh-strong army, spreading loot and destruction. Rajbhar
described the event as not just a military success but also a symbol of India's
spiritual and cultural defense, and announced that a great celebration will be
staged on June 10 in Bahraich, the site of the final fight.
Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath ji will also attend the function. A 'Shaurya Mela' (valour fair) will be held,
with participants from all groups.
Rajbhar stated that it will be an opportunity to celebrate and maintain
our strong cultural history. He questioned political parties' intentions for
supposedly ignoring Maharaja Suheldev's contribution.
I'd
want to question Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav and the Congress: Did you
strive to remove the legacy of a national hero like Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar
in order to get votes? Why was his tale
left out of textbooks? Why did the
Samajwadi Party hold ceremonies in commemoration of invader Salar Masud Ghazi
in Bahraich but never commemorate Suheldev's valor on the same land? he said.
Maharaja
Suheldev was a Shravasti ruler who defeated and killed Ghaznavid commander
Ghazi Miyan at Bahraich in 1034. Rajbhar accused the Congress and SP of
concealing the accomplishments and valor of great individuals.
Throughout
history, there have been conflicts with the Mughals. He said that SP and
Congress did all the 'dramebaji' to get votes from their (Mughal) 'vanshaj'
(heirs). Rajbhar attributed his party, the SBSP, with advocating for the
installation of Suheldev's statue, the foundation of a university in his honor,
the inclusion of his tale in educational curriculum, the issuing of
commemorative stamps, and the erection of memorials. I applaud Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Adityanath for acknowledging Maharaja
Suheldev's efforts. His statue has been put in Bahraich, a memorial park has
been built near Chittaura Lake (Bahraich), and a university has been founded in
Azamgarh in his honor. Rajbhar also said
that a postage stamp has been prepared to commemorate his legacy.
He
stated that Maharaja Suheldev was more than simply a Rajbhar community hero; he
was also a guardian of the Indian country and its principles. Rajbhar lashed
out at the Congress, claiming that the party has always worked against the
country. He accused its leader, Rahul Gandhi, of bringing the nation into
disrepute during his foreign visits.
