- Now work will be done from 6 am to 2 pm

Guwahati, 14 June (HS): Due to the scorching heat in Assam, the state government has changed the working hours of the workers of tea gardens. Now tea workers will have to work from 6 am to 2 pm. The Labour Welfare Department of the Assam Government has issued special instructions in this regard.

Earlier, the duty of workers in tea gardens was scheduled from 8 am to 4 pm. But this decision has been taken in view of the continuously rising temperature and heat wave conditions across the state. This revised time has been implemented keeping in mind the health and safety of the workers.

It is known that at this time the temperature is being recorded much higher than normal in many parts of Assam, due to which normal life is also getting affected.
