Tehran, 13 June (H.S.): Iran is facing significant upheaval following Israeli airstrikes that have targeted nuclear facilities and resulted in the deaths of Iranian military officers and scientists. In a strong reaction, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei vowed revenge for the murders of at least four key figures, including Major General Hossein Salami and former nuclear chief Fereydoun Abbasi. Khamenei condemned the Israeli actions, stating that they have stained their hands with blood and called for severe retribution. He warned that the Israeli regime should prepare for a painful fate due to its attacks on Iran, which included strikes on residential areas.
Eyewitnesses reported casualties, including women and children, and images from the scene depicted significant damage to buildings in Tehran. Khamenei emphasized the readiness of Iran's armed forces to respond forcefully to these provocations, indicating a potential escalation in regional tensions.
