PSG thrash Inter Milan 5-0 to win UEFA Champions League final for first time ever

Munich , 1 June (H.S.): Desire Doue scored twice, leading Paris St Germain to a decisive 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final, marking PSG's first European Cup triumph. After losing to Bayern Munich in the 2020 final, PSG, under Luis Enrique, overcame earlier season struggles to secure the coveted trophy for their Qatari owners. The match was dominated by PSG, who struck twice within the first 20 minutes: Achraf Hakimi and Doue scored early. In the 63rd minute, Doue netted his second, followed by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's goal ten minutes later, and Senny Mayulu capped the scoring just before the final whistle, achieving the largest winning margin in a Champions League final.

Despite the Italian fans' early enthusiasm, singing their club anthem, Inter failed to challenge PSG's superior performance. PSG maintained possession with fluid passing and creativity, capitalizing on Inter's defense. The first goal came in the 12th minute when Vitinha assisted Doue, who set up Hakimi. Eight minutes later, a counterattack led to Doue's deflected shot into the net. PSG solidified their dominance with a third goal from Doue in the area and followed up with Kvaratskhelia's near-post finish. Finally, Mayulu scored the fifth, sealing a historic victory as the French fans erupted in celebration at the final whistle.
