Ahmedabad, June 1 (H.S.): In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians will clash in Qualifier 2 today. This match will be held at 7:30 PM at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The team that loses the match will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winning team will directly reach the final, where they will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on June 3. After losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight wickets in Qualifier 1, Punjab Kings have a second chance to reach the final. Therefore, under the leadership of captain Shreyas Iyer, this is a ‘do or die’ situation for the Punjab team. If the team wants to win its first IPL title, they will need to forget the previous loss and put forth their best performance in this match. The batting of Punjab Kings was very poor in the last match, where the team was all out for just 101 runs. Thus, they will need to improve their batting against Mumbai.

On the other hand, five-time champions Mumbai Indians made it to Qualifier 2 after defeating Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator. The Mumbai team has a lot of experience playing in IPL playoffs, which gives Hardik Pandya's team a slight edge in this matchup. The team has star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. In batting, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma can win matches for Mumbai at any time. Captain Hardik Pandya is performing well with both bat and ball. Overall, the Mumbai team has performed well in every department of the game. However, overcoming the challenge posed by Punjab Kings will not be easy for them. In the current IPL season, Mumbai has faced Punjab once and lost. Thus, a fierce battle is expected between the two teams in Qualifier 2.

Possible playing XI for Punjab Kings: Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Josh Inglis (wicketkeeper), Shreyas Iyer (captain), Nehal Wadhera, Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh, Azmatullah Omarzai, Harpreet Brar, Kyle Jamieson, Arshdeep Singh.

Possible playing XI for Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma, Jonny Bairstow (wicketkeeper), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (captain), Naman Dhir, Raj Angad Bawa, Mitchell Santner, Richard Gleeson, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult.
