New Delhi, May 9 (HS): The remaining eight matches of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will now be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This important decision was taken by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) due to the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The PCB stated in an official announcement that the dates and venues for the remaining matches will be announced soon.

A match was scheduled to take place at Rawalpindi Stadium between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday, but it was postponed after a drone fell in the stadium premises, leading to an emergency meeting. During this meeting, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and foreign players participating in the league discussed the situation, in which most of the foreign players demanded that the league be shifted to the UAE.

This is not the first time the PSL has had to take place in the UAE. The league began in 2016 in the UAE, and the first two seasons were held there. Additionally, due to COVID in 2021, some matches were also played in the UAE. Once again, the league has been shifted out of Pakistan for security reasons.

After the PSL, Pakistan was scheduled to host a home T20 series against Bangladesh starting on May 21. The first match was to be played on May 25 in Faisalabad, but now with changes to the league schedule, this series may also be affected. The PCB has not yet made any final decision on this matter.
