False claims are being made through fake videos and images. Not only that, there is an attempt to mislead not just the country but the world by spreading propaganda against India. An old video is going viral on social media, claiming a Pakistani attack on Jammu.
PIB Fact Check has revealed that this video is originally from Dhaka and is from a report dated February 2025.
A news report from China Daily falsely claims that at least three Indian jets have crashed in Kashmir. PIB Fact Check stated that this image is from an incident that occurred in 2019.
Here is a news report from 2019. It is part of a coordinated propaganda campaign aimed at spreading panic among people and misleading them.
Additionally, Pakistani social media handles are claiming that a Sukhoi Su-30 MKI has been shot down in Muzaffarabad, with a captured Indian pilot alive. PIB Fact Check noted that this Sukhoi Su-30 MKI of the Indian Air Force crashed on October 14, 2014, in the Undra locality of Kulwadi village near the Pune-Ahmednagar highway in Maharashtra. This is an old image that is being linked to the current situation.
