New Delhi, May 9 (HS): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has written a letter to the chief secretaries and administrators of all states and union territories in light of the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
In the letter, the MHA directed the chief secretaries and administrators to use emergency powers under civil defense regulations for the effective implementation of necessary precautionary measures in the event of war or war-like situations.
On April 22, terrorists killed 26 innocent people in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In response, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor to bring justice to the victims, targeting and destroying nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This action by India has infuriated Pakistan, leading to repeated violations of the ceasefire along the Line of Control, creating war-like conditions.
