New Delhi, May 9 (H.S.): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan and the three service chiefs in Delhi on Friday morning, following India’s successful prevention of missile and drone attacks from Pakistan aimed at military installations and cities. This meeting aimed to evaluate the security landscape post India's cross-border operations dubbed Operation Sindoor.
India effectively thwarted a second wave of airstrikes from Pakistan that targeted military stations across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab, commencing around 8:30 pm the previous night. The Pakistani attacks also affected military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur, provoking a swift response from the Indian Army.
Reports indicated a significant power outage in Srinagar, Jammu, and various regions in Punjab and Rajasthan during the escalation. Sources revealed the destruction of numerous Pakistani military positions along the Line of Control, with Indian forces employing anti-tank guided missiles effectively.
The Army reported multiple drone and munitions assaults by Pakistani forces on May 8-9, accompanied by ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army has committed to defending the nation's sovereignty vigorously, vowing to respond with force to any hostilities. Following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, India executed 24 rapid missile strikes across Pakistan, leading to significant casualties among terrorists, provoking further retaliatory actions from Pakistan that culminated in civilian casualties.
