New Delhi, April 3 (H.S.): On Thursday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended the duration of Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, allowing representatives to voice constituency issues. The session spanned over 5 hours, with 202 MPs participating. Zero Hour occurs after Question Hour, enabling MPs to raise topics without prior notice.

This extension follows a similar occurrence on July 18, 2019, when 161 MPs spoke. The Speaker had committed to this initiative during a Business Advisory Committee meeting. Additionally, a late-night session was held on the Waqf Amendment Bill the previous day.
