New Delhi, April 3 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday to attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit on April 4. After his engagements in Thailand, he will continue to Sri Lanka for a state visit. Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, confirmed the trip, emphasizing Modi's commitment to enhancing cooperation with BIMSTEC nations.
Ahead of his visit, Modi highlighted the importance of these partnerships, stating he will participate in various programs over the next three days.
During his official visit in Bangkok, Modi plans to meet with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and have an audience with King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
Following BIMSTEC, Modi will visit Sri Lanka from April 4-6, invited by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new cooperation avenues, reinforcing India’s engagement with its regional partners.
