Bhubaneswar, 3 April (H.S.): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has welcomed the passage of the Odisha University (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the state assembly.
On the social media platform X, he wrote that the passage of the proposed Odisha University (Amendment) Bill, 2024 is commendable, as it aims to honor the autonomy of educational institutions in Odisha, make education more inclusive and accessible, improve the quality standards of education, and boost the morale of educators.
The proposed amendments in the bill align with the objectives of the visionary National Education Policy 2020 of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which seeks to modernize university governance, ensure more transparent and accountable administration, and promote the enhancement of educational quality.
The bill emphasizes maintaining coordination with UGC standards and taking inclusive decisions. These amendments are expected to improve not only university administration but also contribute to the overall growth of the educational environment and institutions.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and the efforts of Higher Education Minister Suraj Suryavanshi, the state government is committed to ensuring the comprehensive development of the university system.
