Jalgaon, 03 Apr (HS):- A serial blast in gas
cylinders in Satri village in Amalner tehsil of Jalgaon district on Wednesday
night razed eight houses. The operations to control the fire were difficult due
to strong wind in the unseasonal climatic changes.
The fire that began in a ditch spread, and four to
five gas cylinders stored exploded, turning a small fire into a blaze.
The firefighters faced problems as they tried to reach the
village across the Tapi River. The fire tenders got stuck in the sand in the
river. The entire village lived in fear on Wednesday night. The local
administration arranged for a temporary shelter for the villagers. Further
investigation is in progress.
There was no report of any casualty in the blaze.
