Noida, 26 April (HS): Gautam Budh Nagar Police has issued a stringent advice barring the usage
of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near Noida International Airport
in Jewar. This bold measure, announced on Saturday, seeks to strengthen airport
security and ensure rigorous airspace surveillance. Manish Kumar Mishra,
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police for Jewar Airport, announced
unequivocally that a full ban on drones and any UAVs near Noida International
Airport is now in force. The prohibition is consistent with directives from the
Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, and
other security organizations. It is
worth mentioning that Noida International Airport has been classified as a Red
Zone, which means it will be a no-drone fly zone beginning October 8,
2024. Mishra highlighted that offenders
will face legal consequences under the Airports Authority of India Act, 1934,
and associated UAV operation regulations. The public is asked to follow the
regulations for airspace safety.
