Guwahati, 25 April (HS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified the election campaign for the upcoming Panchayat elections in the state. These elections to be held in two phases will be held on 2 and 7 May. Public meetings are being organized across the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, State President Dilip Saikia, Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Pabitra Margherita, along with other prominent leaders, ministers, MLAs and senior officials.

In this sequence, at 9 am on Saturday, the party's Panchayat Election 'Sankalp Patra' will be released by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and State President Dilip Saikia at the BJP state office Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati. This manifesto will outline the overall development of the rural areas of the state.

This manifesto prepared by the BJP has been prepared after consultation with the aware citizens of the state and their suggestions have been included. Party's chief spokesperson Manoj Barua expressed confidence that the promises made in it will meet the expectations of people of every section.

During the Sankalp Patra release program, special schemes will be announced to strengthen the rural economy, institutional empowerment and social systems. Along with this, 13 eminent persons who have made a significant contribution to rural development will also be honored.

The persons to be honoured include:

Ranjib Sharma (President, Sita Jakhala Dairy Cooperative Society), Anupam Deka (Director, Assam Gaurav-SRD Group), agriculture organiser Pushpadhar Kachari, rural entrepreneur Runa Rafiq, Assam Gaurav tea producer Tenzing Bodosa, organic farming model farmer Utpal Kalita, cow-based organic farming model farmer Jayanta Malla Bujarbarua, model farmer Debabrata Rabha, fisheries expert Guru Prasad Das, wood flower producer Tulika Gogoi, traditional garment maker (Assam Gaurav) Jessin Kumbang Paw, fish producer (Assam Gaurav) Devjit Barman and entrepreneur (Assam Gaurav) Neelam Dutta.

The party claims that this Sankalp Patra will give a new direction to the development of the rural area of the state.
