Gurugram, April 22 (H.S.): In the women's matches held on Monday in the Global Indian Pravasi Kabaddi League (GI-PKL), the Bhojpuri Leopards and Tamil Lionesses recorded powerful victories. Meanwhile, the match between Telugu Cheetahs and Punjabi Tigresses was extremely exciting, finishing in a tie at 38-38. These matches were played at the Multipurpose Hall of Gurugram University. The GI-PKL started on Friday and will run for 13 days, with the finals scheduled to take place on April 30.

In the first match, the Bhojpuri Leopards defeated the Haryana Eagles 37-26. The Leopards maintained control of the match from the beginning. The team achieved a stunning victory by scoring 19 raid points, 13 tackle points, and 4 all-outs, securing an 11-point lead. The Haryana Eagles managed to gather only 17 raid points and 6 tackle points. Sindhuja delivered an excellent performance for the Bhojpuri team, successfully completing 6 out of 8 raids and earning a total of 7 raid points (4 touch + 3 bonus).

In the second match, the Tamil Lionesses defeated the Marathi Falcons in a one-sided affair, winning 44-23. The Tamil team accumulated 24 raid points and strengthened their lead by achieving three all-outs. The Marathi Falcons' defense proved weak, preventing any chances of a comeback. Tamil Lionesses' captain Rachna Vilas set the tone for the match, succeeding in 11 out of 12 raids and contributing a total of 16 points with 15 raid points (including one super raid) and 1 tackle point.

The third match witnessed stiff competition between Telugu Cheetahs and Punjabi Tigresses. Both teams fought evenly, and the match ended in a 38-38 tie. The Telugu team scored 26 points in raiding, while the Punjabi Tigresses matched them with 15 tackle points. Super raids and super tackles made the contest even more thrilling, which was well appreciated by the audience.

The men's matches will begin on Tuesday, featuring Marathi Vultures vs. Tamil Lions (6 PM), Bhojpuri Leopards vs. Telugu Panthers (7 PM), and Punjabi Tigers vs. Haryana Sharks (8 PM). The league phase will continue until April 27, followed by the men's semifinals on April 28, women's semifinals on April 29, and finals for both categories on April 30.
