Guwahati, 02 April (HS): Voting process for Rabha Hajong Autonomous Governing Council (RHAC) elections in Assam has started on Wednesday. Queues of voters started appearing at polling stations from 7 am. The administration has made tight security arrangements to conduct peaceful voting in 33 constituencies of the state.
The election is witnessing a tough competition between many political parties and independent candidates. At the same time, three candidates have already been declared uncontested winners in three constituencies, due to which voting is not taking place on these seats.
According to the State Election Commission, the voting process will continue throughout the day and after the voting ends by evening, the counting process will start as per the scheduled time. The local administration has appealed to the voters to participate enthusiastically in the democratic process.
