Imphal, 02 April (HS): Security forces recovered a huge cache of weapons and explosives during an operation conducted in sensitive areas of Manipur. Manipur Police said on Wednesday that a huge quantity of weapons and ammunition were recovered from Sajirok area of Patsoi police station area in Imphal West district.

The recovered material includes one SLR rifle, one single barrel gun, three 9 mm pistols, one empty magazine of an AK rifle, two defective magazines of INSAS rifles, five .303 bore bullets, ten .303 blank cartridges, four barrel cartridges and two other cartridges.

Apart from this, five tear smoke shells, one hand grenade, four smoke grenades, one stun grenade, six plates (four plastic and two rubber), three bulletproof jackets, three camouflage helmets and one Baofeng handheld set (without antenna) and its charger were also recovered.

Security forces have conducted such operations several times in recent months, in which large quantities of weapons and explosives have been recovered. Security agencies are constantly conducting operations to maintain peace and stability in the region.
