Guwahati, 02 April (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will attend the opening ceremony of the state level games of Khel Maharana 2.0 in Guwahati on Wednesday. This grand event will start at 6:00 pm, in which thousands of talented athletes from across the state will showcase their sporting talent.

Expressing his excitement on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this sports event will provide an important platform to promote sports spirit among the youth of Assam and to move forward at the national and international level. A total of 73 lakh registrations were received from across the state for Khel Maharana 2.0, out of which 7,098 best players have qualified for the state level competition.

In this grand sports festival, there will be competitions of various sports including athletics, football, kabaddi, volleyball, in which tough competition will be seen among the players. Chief Minister Dr. Sarma, while wishing all the participants, said that a sense of discipline, hard work and dedication is developed through sports. He also said that the best performing player in this competition will be honored and he will be given every possible support to move forward.

This Khel Maharana 2.0 organized by the Government of Assam is not only a platform to hone the sports talent of the state, but also an important initiative to make the youth aware of sports and give a new direction to their career.
