NEW DELHI, 4 March (H.S.) : Delhi BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely's mother passed away; BJP leaders expressed condolences on her death.

Davinder Kaur, mother of BJP MLA from Gandhinagar, Arvinder Singh Lovely, died on Monday; she was 83 years old. Her last rite was performed today, on Tuesday. Her last journey started from the residence of MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely in Azad Nagar at 10 am and reached Geeta Colony Ghat at 11 am, where she has been cremated.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, state media chief & spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, and other ministers and leaders have visited and expressed deep condolences and prayed for peace for the departed soul.

Arvinder Singh Lovely was a 4-time MLA from Gandhinagar in the Congress' Sheila Dikshit government and was also a minister for 15 years. He joined the BJP a few years after the Congress government lost power in Delhi. He again went back to the Congress from the BJP after about 2 years. On the first day of the recently started session of the Delhi Assembly, he was administered the oath of office as Protem Speaker by Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena. Then he administered the oath of office to all the MLAs in the Assembly and conducted the election of the Speaker of the Assembly.
