Nagpur, 19 Mar (HS): The riots in Nagpur relating

to the Aurangazeb’s Tomb were preplanned as stated by Chief Minister Devendra

Fadnavis and supported by Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Singal. The

mastermind of the riots was Fahim Shamim Khan, City Unit President of Minority

Democratic Party, which is clear from the FIR filed by the police.

Fahim has been arrested by the police as the main

accused. Besides Fahim, offenses against 51 others have been registered.

According to police, Fahim collected 30 to 40 people

around 11.30 am on March 17. He complained with the police against members of

Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, who were staging demonstrations

relating to the Aurangazeb’s tomb. Police had registered his complaint. Fahim Khan,

however, instigated the demonstrators saying that police would not cooperate as

they all are Hindus.

An FIR registered with the Ganeshpeth Police Station

says that a woman police personnel was molested on Chitnispark-Central Avenue

road. Obscene remarks against other women were also made by a group in the

area, which has been mentioned in the FIR.
