Kokrajhar (Assam), 16 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that while respecting all aspects of the Bodo Accord, the Triple Engine Government of the Central and State Governments has fulfilled many promises and steps are being taken to ensure the overall development of the region.
The Chief Minister said that his government is committed to its promises, inspired by the philosophy of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma. He mentioned several ambitious schemes for the region, which mainly include -
Kokrajhar-Gelphu-Guwahati railway line, development of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma's Samadhi Sthal and marking May 1 as a statewide remembrance day, expansion of Bodoland University, making Kokrajhar University fully functional, new medical college in Udalguri, making Bodo language the medium of instruction at the pre-graduate level in Bodoland, upgrading 35 high schools to model high schools and setting up a 1200 MW power generation center, etc.
The Chief Minister said that apart from these schemes, the government is working on many other development projects, which will benefit the people of the Bodoland region.
