Indore, 7 February (HS): A massive fire broke out in two warehouses of GNT Timber Market in Indore, the economic capital of Madhya Pradesh, on Friday morning. Some people who went out for morning walk saw flames rising and informed the fire department and police about the incident. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the fire brigade team and the municipal corporation reached the spot. After which, after a lot of effort, the fire brigade team brought the fire under control. Wood worth lakhs of rupees was burnt to ashes in the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown. At present, the police is investigating the whole matter.
According to the information, a fire broke out in Akshar Laminates at around 5 am in GNT Market located on Dhar Road. According to the information, the fire station built in Lakdi Peethe was 100 meters away from the place where the fire broke out. The watchmen of the wood market reached the spot and woke up the firemen. About half an hour later, the vehicles reached here. But by then the fire took a monstrous form. After this the firemen kept trying to extinguish it. Furniture and wooden items were burnt in the incident. After the information, 5 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and controlled the fire. Two warehouses were engulfed in the fire. Which was filled with a large number of furniture and wooden items. The fire team had to work hard for two hours to control the fire. According to the fire brigade, an employee of Gokul Timber named Chiku alias Chintu has also been burnt in the accident. Chiku used to live in a room inside. He came out after the fire broke out. During this, his hand and face got burnt. It is said that Chiku lives with his mother in this timber market. His mother was at relatives' place. The police first sent Chiku to the district hospital for treatment. After this he has been admitted to MY. At present he is undergoing treatment in the burn unit. It was a matter of luck that the fire did not spread till there due to the construction of high walls in the nearby backs, otherwise other backs would also have been engulfed.
