Nadia, 6 February (HS). Office chairs and tables were broken over the election of Mandal president at the Nadia South organizational district office of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday afternoon. A section of the party alleged that posts were beingiven in exchange for money.
The party workers accused the top leadership of making people of their choice as Mandal presidents, ignoring the opinion of the workers.
However, the Nadia South district BJP leadership has rejected these allegations. Former BJP secretary Swapan Ghosh here called it a process of 'selection' and not election. He said that it has been accepted.
Tension was increasing in the office since Wednesday afternoon over the preparation of a new list, as a result of which some supporters lost patience and damaged the office furniture.
