Bhubaneswar, 6 February (H.S.): Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das today met with the 16th Finance Commission and submitted her demands.

During the meeting, she emphasized the need for urban local bodies and requested that the necessary provisions be made. She pointed out that as the city grows, the needs of the people are also increasing. To address this, she urged the Commission to prioritize increasing the available infrastructure . She also called for the expansion of the Public Delivery System and greater attention to waste management.

Further, she requested strengthening permanent facilities for the public, with an emphasis on increasing the city’s finances. Additionally, she demanded the enhancement of trade and untraded funds to boost the economy.
