Bhubaneswar, 5 February (H.S.): In a joint effort by the Odisha government and UNICEF, the state will observe National Deworming Day starting from February 10. On this day, deworming medicine will be administered to children aged 1 to 19 years across all districts of the state, which will be given every six months. Additionally, all women aged 20 to 24 years who are of reproductive age will also be given this medication.

Dr. Sanyukta Sahu, Joint Director of the Family Welfare Department, shared this information in a press conference. She stated that 146,49,623 children aged 1 to 19 years and 17,73,187 women aged 20 to 24 years will benefit from this initiative. If anyone misses taking the medicine on February 10, they can take it on February 17.

This program is being organized through the joint efforts of the Health and Family Welfare Department, School and Mass Education Department, Women and Child Development Department, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Department, and UNICEF.
