Delhi, 5 February (H.S.) Italian Navy warship Antonio Marceglia arrived at Colombo port


Colombo, 05 February (HS): Italian Navy warship (ship) Antonio Marceglia arrived at Colombo port this morning. The guest ship was welcomed by the Sri Lankan Navy as per tradition. Antonio Marceglia is a 144 meter long warship. It is commanded by Commander Alberto Bartolomeo. There is a crew of 199 people on this ship.

According to the Daily Mirror, during the ship's stay in the island, its crew is expected to explore some interesting tourist spots in Colombo and Galle. The ship will depart the island on February 7. Before this, Antonio Marceglia will take part in an exercise with the Sri Lankan Navy ship off the Colombo coast.

Antonio Marceglia has been built by Fincantieri. It is the eighth ship of the Italian war series. It is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 27 knots. It has accommodation for 200 people (crew and staff). This ship is capable of facing all kinds of strategic situations.
