New Delhi, February 04 (HS): After US President Donald Trump imposed 10 percent tariff on goods imported from Beijing, now China has also imposed tariff on many American products. After this, the trade war has started again between the world's largest economies.
China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Tuesday that it is imposing retaliatory tariffs on many products against America. The Chinese government has said that it will impose a 15 percent tariff on coal and liquefied natural gas products. Also, 10 percent tariff will be applicable on crude oil, agricultural machinery, large displacement cars.
China's State Administration for Market Regulation said that it is investigating Google on suspicion of violating antitrust laws. The statement said that America's unilateral tariff increase is a violation of the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO). This is not only not helpful in solving their own problems but also harms the general economic and trade cooperation between China and the US.
The 10 percent tariff imposed on China by US President Donald Trump was to come into effect from Tuesday. However, Trump plans to talk to Chinese President Xi Jinping in the next few days.
