New Delhi,3 February(HS): The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Bihar government and BPSC chairman on a petition challenging the appointment of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) chairman. A bench headed by Justice PS Narasimha ordered the issuance of notice.

The petition has been filed by lawyer Brijesh Singh. Challenging the notification of appointment of BPSC chairman Manu Bhai Parmar, the petition states that Manu Bhai Parmar was appointed to the post of chairman despite a corruption case pending against him. Bihar Vigilance Bureau is investigating Parmar. In such a situation, Parmar should not be appointed as BPSC chairman. The petition has demanded the court to cancel Parmar's appointment.

During the hearing, the court asked the petitioner lawyer that you have nothing to do with BPSC, then why have you filed the petition. The court said that as a lawyer one should avoid filing such petitions. The court ordered the appointment of lawyer Vanshva Shukla as amicus curiae to assist the court in this matter.
