NEW DELHI, 26 February (H.S.) : After the crushing defeat
in the Delhi Assembly elections, speculations about Arvind Kejriwal going to
Rajya Sabha have intensified. After the decision to make Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora a candidate in the Ludhiana West Assembly
by-election, a new discussion has become heated in the political circles. In
case of Sanjeev Arora becoming MLA, one seat in Rajya Sabha will become vacant.
In such a situation, speculations have intensified that in place of Sanjeev
Arora, Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister
Arvind Kejriwal may go to the Rajya Sabha.
However, Priyanka Kakkar,
spokesperson, Aam Aadmi Party has currently denied these speculations,
political experts say that if Arvind Kejriwal does this, then this step can
open a possible new political path for Arvind Kejriwal. After the crushing
defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, going to Rajya Sabha may prove to be a
strategic decision for Kejriwal, due to which he will be able to play a
properly active role in the central politics.
AAP spokesperson Priyanka
Kakkar said, Arvind Kejriwal is not going to Rajya Sabha. As far as Arvind
Kejriwal is concerned, media sources were earlier saying that he will become
the Chief Minister of Punjab. Now media sources say that he will contest
elections from Rajya Sabha. Both of these sources are completely wrong. She
said, Arvind Kejriwal is the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party. I agree that
his demand is very high, but he is not limited to any one seat.
Earlier, when Arvind
Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister and vacated the CM residence,
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora had given his residence to Arvind Kejriwal. Sanjeev
Arora is a businessman. Presently Arvind Kejriwal lives with his family in
bungalow number 5 located on Feroze Shah Road, which is allotted in the name of
Sanjeev Arora.
