Guwahati, 24 February (HS): A complaint has been filed against AIUDF chief and MP Badruddin Ajmal in Bongaigaon by Momi Roy Choudhury, General Secretary of Jatiya Nari Bahini, the women’s wing of Raijor Dal.

Ajmal's remarks about Gitashree Tamuli, professor and wife of Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi, have ignited strong opposition. While speaking to the media, Ajmal commented, Akhil Gogoi's wife is old, so has nothing to say in this regard. Well yes, if she had been young then would have commented on something. She is old, so what will I say?

Jatiya Nari Bahini has condemned his statements, calling them derogatory and unacceptable. Momi Roy Choudhury criticized Ajmal for resurfacing in Assam’s political scene, likening his moves to a cunning fox trying to stay relevant.

The controversy has further strained relations between Raijor Dal and AIUDF, with Ajmal facing backlash over his remarks.
