NEW DELHI, 23 February (H.S.) : The first session of Delhi Assembly will start from 24 to 27 February, a meeting of BJP MLAs with CM Rekha Gupta regarding the session called on today. According to the sources, BJP wants to guide its MLAs by giving them guidelines for the new assembly session, so that the MLAs elected for the first time can be aware about some rules of the Assembly.

According to the BJP state office, Delhi Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party leader Rekha Gupta will attend the Legislature Party meeting on Sunday at around 1:30 pm. This meeting of BJP legislature party has been called in BJP State Party office at Pant Marg, New Delhi on Sunday. The proceedings of the House of the new Assembly will be discussed with the MLAs. CM Rekha Gupta and all 6 ministers and all elected MLAs will be present in this meeting. BJP MLAs will also be trained on how to behave in the first session and how to face the opposition.

BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva will also be present in this meeting. Actually, as per the rules, this meeting should have been held in Delhi Secretariat only. But, since no room has been allotted to the Chief Minister yet, this meeting will be held in the BJP state office. This is the last meeting of the BJP Legislature Party at the BJP State Party Office. In future, all meeting of the Legislative Party will be held in the Secretariat as per rules.

As per protocol, in the first session of the 8th Assembly which will start from February 24 to February 27, the Protem Speaker will be appointed and the Protem Speaker will administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs. Before this, senior BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely will be administered the Oath of Protem Speaker by the Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. After all the MLAs take Oath, the Assembly Speaker will be elected, then the Assembly Deputy Speaker will be elected. The CAG report, pending during the tenure of Aam Aadmi Party can also be presented in the Assembly by the new government.
