Kolkata, 22 February (H.S.) – A promoter was critically injured in a deadly attack in Liluah, Howrah, on Friday night. Unidentified assailants opened fire on him outside his home before fleeing the scene. The victim was initially rushed to a private hospital in Howrah, but due to his worsening condition, he was later referred to Kolkata for advanced treatment.

The incident occurred around 10 PM in the Goshala area of Liluah. The victim, identified as Rajesh Singh, was standing outside his house when a group of attackers suddenly arrived and fired multiple shots at him. The assailants fled immediately after the attack, leaving Singh severely wounded. Locals quickly took him to the hospital, where his condition remains critical.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the case. Officials stated that efforts are underway to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the attack. Liluah police are examining CCTV footage from the area to track down the culprits. Preliminary investigations suggest a business rivalry as a possible reason, although police are exploring all angles.
